§ 01 — The firm
We're the people we
built this firm to find.
Behr Growth Partners exists because the deal world is full of noise — inflated decks, recycled listings, advisors who've never owned anything. We wanted a firm that operates the way we wish others did: honestly, selectively, with real money on the line.
Our philosophy
Value hides in plain sight.
Most people are looking at the wrong things.
We are industry agnostic. We don't chase sectors; sectors go in and out of fashion, and fashion is expensive. A boring business executed brilliantly beats an exciting business executed averagely — every time, in every market.
We are value driven. We care about what a business actually earns, what it would cost to replace, and how durable its position is. Not what a comparable startup raised at, and not what the seller "feels" it's worth.
We look for businesses doing something unique in their space. That uniqueness can live in the offer itself — a product or service others can't easily match — or in the form of delivery: the operations, the business model, the way it reaches and serves its customer. Both count. Both compound.
And one thing is non-negotiable: the business must add consistent value to an identifiable customer. If you can't tell us exactly who is better off because this company exists, and why they keep coming back, there's no deal — however good the spreadsheet looks.
§ 02 — Buyer & investor profile
What we buy. What we back.
When we evaluate an opportunity — for our own balance sheet or for our circle — this is the honest checklist. Few businesses tick every box. The good ones tick the ones that matter.
A real economic engine
Proven revenue, sane margins, and cash flow that doesn't require a story to explain. We'll look at pre-profit companies — but only when the path to profit is arithmetic, not faith.
Uniqueness with evidence
Something about this business is genuinely hard to copy — the product, the process, the model, the distribution. And customers behave like it: retention, referrals, pricing power.
An identifiable customer who wins
We can name who the customer is, what problem they had, and how they're measurably better off. "Everyone is our market" is a red flag, not a feature.
Owners we'd want at dinner
Honest about the warts. Clear about why they're raising or selling. We do business with people, and we're picky about people — it's the cheapest risk management there is.
Room to grow with work, not luck
An upside we can underwrite: operational slack, unbuilt channels, pricing left on the table. If the upside depends on the market doing us a favor, we price it at zero.
How we work
Small by design.
Direct by nature.
We keep the firm deliberately small so every relationship is a real one. No associates managing you. No process theater. When you talk to BGP, you talk to a partner — someone who has bought, built, operated, and occasionally been burned. The scar tissue is part of the service.
We work across three roles — investor, connector, consultant — because they sharpen each other. Investing keeps our consulting honest. Consulting keeps our investing informed. And connecting only works because of both.
If that sounds like your kind of firm, start a conversation. The first one is just that — a conversation.
